New funding arrangements for volunteer organisations | myregion

Volunteer Rotary Club members cook sausages for the crowd on Australia Day in Gladstone, Central Queensland. New funding arrangements have been announced to support volunteering and connect Australian volunteers with disadvantaged communities across Australia. Under the new funding arrangements funding for the 32 regional Volunteer Resource Centres (VRCs) will be guaranteed for a period of three years, up from the current 12 months.

Government continues to demand the best employment services for job seekers with disability | Ministers' Media Centre

The Australian Government's response to the Senate Education, Employment and Workplace Relations References Committee's Report, The administration and purchasing of Disability Employment Services in Australia' was tabled in the Parliament today. Minister for Employment Participation Kate Ellis said that the Government was committed to ensuring that people with disability have access to the best possible employment services. In the 2011-12 Budget the Australian Government included some important changes to employment services, including a competitive tender process for Disability Employment Services - Employment Support Services.
