NSW foster mother wins 2012 Local Hero
Minister for Immigration and Citizenship. The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Chris Bowen MP, today congratulated Australia's 2012 Local Hero, foster mother Lynne Sawyers, of Darbys Falls in New South Wales. `It is a great honour to once again be involved in the Australian of the Year Awards, with my department a proud sponsor of Australia's Local Hero Award for the 10th year running,' Mr Bowen said.
