Making maths and science 'cool for school' | Ministers' Media Centre
School students will have access to interesting and engaging maths and science lessons, thanks to the Gillard Government's $54 million response to the Chief Scientist's Mathematics, Engineering and Science in the National Interest report. Mr Melham said the Government's focus on increasing the quality and availability of maths and science education was integral to Australia's future prosperity. The Gillard Government's Maths and Science Package came in response to the recent report by the Chief Scientist, Professor Ian Chubb, Mathematics, Engineering and Science in the National Interest , which provides a roadmap to engaging students in science and maths.
