More support for homeless job seekers | Ministers' Media Centre

A new Federal Government trial will broaden access to emergency accommodation and rent assistance for more homeless job seekers, Minister for Employment Participation Kate Ellis announced today. The important role employment services play in helping job seekers who are homeless stabilise their lives and get back into the workforce cannot be understated, Ms Elllis said. That's why I'm pleased to announce this 12 month trial, which will mean JSA providers can use the Fund to pay for crisis accommodation and rent assistance for all primary' homeless job seekers that is, those who are living in a squat, sleeping in a car or tent, or have nowhere to stay.
