Queenslanders are being encouraged to have their say about making child care more affordable, flexible and accessible as new analysis shows the number of children enrolled in the state has increased by over 50,000 in just six years. In fact, Queensland families had the second highest child care usage in the nation at 25.6 hours per week. Queensland families should be able to plan child care around their work life, not their work life around child care, Ms Ley said.
