President reports on PJ v AMP Financial Planning Pty Limited [2014] AusHRC 89 | Australian Human Rights Commission
The President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, Professor Gillian Triggs, has found that AMP Financial Planning Pty Limited (AMPFP) discriminated against MrPJ on the basis of his criminal record.. Mr PJ had applied to AMPFP to be appointed as an authorised representative under its financial services licence. That would have allowed Mr PJ to purchase a financial planning business and operate it under the aegis of AMPFP. At the same time as AMPFP was considering this application, it held discussions with Mr PJ with a view to identifying a suitable financial planning practice for Mr PJ to purchase.. A copy of this report: PJ v AMP Financial Planning Pty Limited is online.
