Commonwealth Attorney-General and Minister for Emergency Management Nicola Roxon and South Australian Minister for Emergency Services, Jennifer Rankine have called for applications for the next round of South Australia's Natural Disaster Resilience Program. Attorney-General Nicola Roxon said $3 million is available for grants that focus on building resilience to the threat of natural disasters and supporting emergency management volunteers in preparedness, response and recovery. Ms Rankine said the devastating floods of 2011 and 2012 served as a reminder that natural disasters are a feature of the Australian climate and landscape.
