Engineering training reform ensures success

The Gillard Government has reached a major agreement with industry that will help 3,000 engineering trades apprentices get qualified sooner and help meet the skills demands the economy needs. This industry-led reform means that apprentices who meet competencies earlier will get their formal qualification sooner and take up a high skilled high paying job, Senator Evans said. Our growing industries need more and more tradespeople and competency-based training is the clear way forward.
